What are the key points of CNC Machining?

CNC machining is an important technology in modern manufacturing. Its precision and accuracy directly impact product quality and production efficiency. Below are the key points of CNC machining that every operator must pay attention to.

1. Initial Setup: At the start, resetting the three-axis origin is essential. This ensures the machine's coordinate system is accurate, laying a solid foundation for subsequent operations. Also, check the oil levels for the guide rails and spindle hydraulic oil. Insufficient oil can affect the machine's performance, reduce CNC machining part accuracy, and even cause failures. Immediate replenishment is necessary to keep the machine in optimal condition.

2. Workpiece Dimensions: Ensuring the workpiece dimensions match the design drawings is crucial. Even minor discrepancies can render the product non-compliant or wasteful. Double-check the drawings before CNC machining. If there are any doubts or discrepancies, consult with management or programming staff to find a solution.

3. Program Interruptions: Program interruptions are common during CNC machining. However, modifying the program requires caution. Errors can lead to CNC machining mistakes and damage tools or workpieces. Always thoroughly check the program after any modification before resuming CNC machining.

4. Tool Change: Tool changes are common in CNC machining but can easily cause errors. Ensure the XYZ axes are reset to zero to avoid tool collisions with the workpiece.

5. Tool Position Adjustment: After a tool change, adjust the tool position according to the required CNC machining depth. If the tool change does not affect the CNC machining depth, use the handwheel to move the tool to the specified XYZ position and continue machining. If the tool change affects the depth, redo the tool setting to ensure accurate relative positioning. This step is critical for maintaining CNC machining quality.

6. Tool Setting Operations: Before running any program, perform tool setting operations. Forgetting this step can lead to CNC machining errors and pose serious safety risks. Always remember this critical step to prevent irreparable consequences.

7. G60 Value Reset: Failure to reset the G60 value can result in workpiece scrapping. Always check and adjust the G60 value after use to prevent the production of defective parts.

8. Tool Setting Method: A 10 mm pin is typically used for tool setting. Move the tool close to the workpiece surface and below the 10 mm pin distance. Place the pin on the workpiece and slowly move the tool up until the pin can just pass under the tool. Note that this method requires using a G60 single offset for the Z-axis to input -10, ensuring the work zero is on the workpiece surface. Carelessness during tool setting can easily cause crashes.

9. Common Machining Standards: Typical examples include precision dowel holes, guide pin holes, insert slots, and key slots. For a 10 mm dowel hole, start with a 9.0 mm drill for the pilot hole, expand it with a 9.8 mm drill, and finish with a 10 mm reamer. Ensure the pin fits properly after each step to avoid errors.

Rapid Prototyping CNC Machining is a high-precision, high-requirement task requiring solid professional knowledge and a meticulous attitude. Following strict procedures and continuously improving skills ensures high-quality products, creating greater value for the company.
